Good News! MJ’s original stage play Acting Funny was awarded eighth place in the stage play category of the 81st Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition, a nation-wide contest that attracted 9,369 entries across ten genre categories.

A three-act romantic comedy set in the Oregon theater town of Bradford, aka “Bardford,” Acting Funny dares to ask: Is Cassie’s husband Yuri really turning into her deceased mother? Was Cassie’s mother an acolyte of Anita Bryant? And where does necrophiliac same-sex Oedipal attraction fit into the Freudian scheme of things?
